The children in each of our partner schools has researched the flora and fauna of their country and then produced 10 information cards (3 flora and 3 fauna). We then swapped them with each other so we could share them in our schools and find out more about some of the animals and flowers living and growing in the countries of Europe.

FRANCE
There are many animals living in France. Our region is well-know for the oysters by the Arcachon bay. Our students love to watch the squirrel, the pigeons, the falcon, the black kite, the seagulls, the snails, the lizards and small insects like the firebugs in our school yard. We have chosen to present you other animals that we had the opportunity to meet and study during our outdoor classes:
The stick insect that live in our garden.
The percnoptere vulture that we saw in the Pyrenees mountains: you won't see this peculiar animal in Northern Europe...
The marmot that hide in the Pyrenees mountains

Bordeaux is world-wide known for its wine. As you go around our region, you will see how important the vineyards are... But another special feature is the presence of the maritime pine along the coast... As we went to the Pyrenees mountains, we enjoyed the mountain's flora: gentians and another flower the "carline"... so dear to the shepherds... Enjoy the identity cards we made...
